AC Valhalla - Great Axe and Shield?

Just started this game and my lieutenant can wield SHIELD and GREAT AXE (2 hand).

 

Why I can't wield it for Eivor? Is there a special ability or something to make it work?

 

Kinda unfair if this is not possible for Eivor meanwhile possible for NPC.

Those are heavy weapons, or at least the Great Axe is, as indicated by the two-handed attribute. There's a skill in the skill tree that allows you to dual wield those.
