LMG staff's thoughts about Gaming (Racing) Chairs as their main office chairs

LukeIsLoveLukeIsLife

Hello! I'm currently using a very basic home chair with little to no padding, lumbar support, nor any ergonomic features (literally just a basic chair), and I wanted to upgrade to a good office/gaming chair.

Because of that, I revisited LTT's most recent studio tour titled "This Epic Studio Tour Almost Killed Me!" and noticed that a lot of the staff (even Linus) use gaming chairs with the racecar seat type design. It got me kind of curious as to how it feels to use those kinds of chairs for as long as work hours and work days, and how it is in the long term (both the chair and the staff)

For anyone also wanting to help me, I am planning to buy a "Rakk Casap Elite" priced at around P7,500.00 or US$150. If you have any suggestions, specially if you're from the Philippines, I would be glad to get some advice!

Pretty sure they use them as they were a long time channel sponsor, Maxnomic and sent most, if not all of them over, likely as part of the deal a few years ago.

GamersNexus did a "review" / comparison of some gaming chairs and office chairs here - the office chairs are much better compared to gaming chairs in general.

Also, at $150, you're in that price range where you'll get a lot of models all rebranded and with same features, nothing special..

I'd suggest either buying a cheap $50 chair and save the money or go for something higher end that would last you lots of years.

Gaming chairs are the biggest grift in the industry. Just buy an ergonomic office chair, you'll get a lot more for your money and it won't look ridiculous.

It all depends on budget, like I have a Anda Dark Knight which has been a great chair, but its also like $599 CAD so it better not be a piece of shit lol. I sell gaming chairs at my work, if I was only looking to spend under $250 I would never bother with a gaming chair, Id be looking at office chairs where I am not paying for the gamer look. Also dont buy a chair you cant sit in first, just because a chair is good for one person doesn't mean its good for the next

As said, go and test first. For me with abnormally long back and legs, almost every chair lacks in features. You don't want to spend money on something that doesn't work, or worse, makes your body hurt.
