I need your help to settle on a CPU..!

Hello there, so as the Topic title says, I've been looking for a CPU to take over my placeholder that was the I3 9100F..
The thing is, I have a MSI Z390 Tomahawk, and where ever I search, people seem to be saying that it is a poor match for both the I7 9700K and I9 9900K,
Which leaves me in this puzzled position where I am truly unsure of what to get. The Mobo issue people were pointing out seemed to be linked to a low Voltage utilisation from the Z390 Tomahawk...

I would much appreciate it if anyone could enlighten me as to what to do and what processor to pick up to upgrade my current build.
Thank you all in advance.

do not get a 9700k. It does not have hyper threading, and as such only has 8 threads. Get a 9900k if possible or switch platforms, because intel really gimped almost every cpu that generation by disabling it.

100% agree with this. I had a 9700f and went to a 11700f. Hyper threading made a huge difference for me.

No cpu mobo or ram atm

I'm using a 9900k on a so-so Mobo (Gigabyte Z390M Gaming) and it runs perfectly fine...up to a point, I think some of the mobo doom and gloom is a bit exaggerated.
