I don't have experience with 20 series cards but compared to my 980ti I did not make the same observation. In my experience the stutters did not increase with 30 series. In games I never had stutters with my 980ti I also don't have stutters with the 3080ti. In Games that had stutters on my 980ti (only Unreal Engine games) those are also present with the 30 series card but a lot more noticeable because of the overall higher FPS.

My 2080 tis did a perfect job along with the GTX 1080 ti so it has been years since I experienced stutter.

My two 980 tis never stuttered either but my GTX 1080 did to the point of making some games unplayable. It was a diver issue with that card and after about 8 months the stutter was gone.

Before them I had a GTX 970 that stuttered in every game but when I put it in another computer it did not stutter at all. For the computer that did stutter with 970 I got a GTX 980 for it and had no stutter.

So pre 30 series for me it was either a hardware compatibility issue or a driver issue. With the 30 series I think it is a power limit issue.

My Strix 3080 and EVGA FTW3 Ultra 3080 ti are 450 watt cards and they do not have the issue. My MSI Gaming X Trio 3080 ti/3090 and EVGA XC3 are all severely power limited and do tend to stutter without VRR.

Since you are using a Strix I am not surprised that you are not having issues.

i dont have vrr in windows settings

It is a monitor/TV feature.

It is FreeSync, FreeSync Premium, G-sync and G-sync compatible.

For FreeSync the setting is in the monitors menus.

For G-sync it is in the Nvidia control panel.

If you have neither use vsync in the Program settings menu.
