Windows 11 on unsupported Hardware

Iv installed Windows 11 Pro running on unsupported hardware with no TPM no secure boot and uefi

My motherboard Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 (rev. 6.0) CPU is a AMD FX 8350 eight core processor and 16GB of ram, my graphics cards is a Nvidia 1050

I downloaded windows 10 and windows 11 iso files from windows website, made a folder on my desktop, copped the context from the windows 10 iso to the folder, open the sources folder and delete install.wim file and copy the install.wim file from the windows 11 iso sources folder.

run the setup.exe from windows 10 folder on your hard drive

Make sure you disable updates when doing the install

Looks like the penalty of install Windows 11 on unsupported hardware is, Windows disables 4GB of your ram. Only 12GB usable out of 16GB. lol

I think that is due to something else on his machine. I have used that same method and mine is fine. Lenovo laptop with a 4th gen Intel chip and all 16 gb usable.

I was just joking. Imagine the amount of uproar there is when Win11 forces everyone that install the OS on unsupported hardware can only have 12GB of ram max.

The internet is already losing its collective mind. Don't need to give them any more reasons. Ha ha

I got Windows 11 Pro to install via USB Bare Metal Method with no problems.

Hardware as follows...

Intel Core i7 6850k

Asus x99 Deluxe II motherboard w/ TPM 2.0 module & Asus Thunderbolt 3 card

64 GB Corsair Vengeance LPX 2666 Quad Channel Kit

EVGA  RTX 2070 Gaming 6 Gb

Samsung 970 EVO Plus NVMe m.2 SSD

(Plus other hardware)

- Secure Boot is enabled

All I did was create a USB Install Media from the Media Creation Tool and do a normal Bare Metal Install. No Warnings, no driver issues, perfectly loaded windows.

Windows Update has given me

Quality Updates

2021-09 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 for x64 based systems (KB5005635)

2021-10 Update for Windows 11 for x64 based systems (KB 5007040)

Driver Updates

10 Driver Updates under Optional Updates for my hardware

Definition Updates

Security Intelligence Updates regularly  (-a bunch daily)

Other Updates

Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool x64

This is just since Oct 5th when I wiped everything and installed via USB in a normal process

So I get some Windows Updates....

No sure how many I'll get in the future, but for now everything is Normal... given a new OS

Cheers !,

BlackDragon

For those that cannot get Win11 to install on their unsupported hardware go with the registry hack method, it's a lot more straight forward and easier to do.

For the copy Win11's install.wim to Win10's setup file.

There is no install.wim in the source folder, this file does not exist. Everyone is either not saying the name correctly, or there are steps missing.

Can you explain how to do this please. I have the same motherboard.

I want to install widows 11. I don't understand what you did (copped context etc)

Thanks
