Windows 11 OEM DVDs... When?

I know tomorrow (Oct 5) is the Windows 11 release date but when will the Windows 11 OEM discs will be available for sale? I checked all the retailers and can only see Windows 10 at the moment.

Now don't try to sell me Linux or something else. I'm already on Linux. But I'm a developer and need to test my apps with anything M$ release so...

On another note: what a mess this Windows release is... The system requirements and all the miscommunication. I wonder what marketing smoked...

You want a DVD or a iso? Im guess there will never be a dvd for sale, cause why would you want one, and its too big for a single disk anyways(yea you can put it on multiple)

There is no date, they will probably have a iso soon.

If you want to test your apps, Id just fire up a insider vm now, as it will likely be extremly simmilar to the RTM release.

You can already download it from the internet and install it on a disc or USB thumb drive. All you'll have to get is an activation key.

The general availability of Windows 11 will be released next year.

Right now, it is only for enthusiast, those who want to upgrade early, and OEMs so that Win11 system are ready for the holidays.

I guess you can see it as: a soft lunch now, and more official release early next year.

However, if you want a disk or USB flash drive version, Windows 11 has been released a bit early and so is available now.

You can get the ISO and burn it to disk or use Rufus to make the ISO, or use Media Creation Tool for Windows 11 to prepare the USB flash drive for you (be sure to pick "for another PC" when asked in the Media Creation Tool utility, else it will do an in-place upgrade form Win10 to Win11 (unless this is what you want))

Yeah I know I can download it now but I was more focused on the physical release where you buy the official Windows 11 disc.

I doubt there will be a disk version. The purchase option will also be a flash drive like windows 10 is today. I wouldn't expect that till next year. There really isn't a difference versus downloading the iso and creating your own flash drive. And you can do that periodically as so you don't need to sit through update help every time you do an install. I get fresh isos every couple of months direct from Microsoft because of that reason and time saving on setting up new machines.
