It's possible he's daily driving it for some test as maybe part of a long term use review. I know they've done that before.

Doesn't Alex usually do the Laptop reviews/testing though?

I guess so, yeah. But I figured maybe Jake had a specific use case, like software or something, and he could report his results in the review. Idk, it was a shot in the dark.

I'll be honest, I haven't watched a lot of vids recently. They haven't been catching my eye. So I didn't know what kind he was using.

Since he had the best gaming PC setup, won a PC setup upgrade by virtue of that, and streams, I doubt it.

I used a Mac laptop at work for years while using my gaming PC at home. It's not that big a deal, guys.

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.

up until a year or so ago LMG's Mac content always had a very negative vibe around it. they always made a big deal out of temperatures for example while not noting it in other laptop reviews where the cpu got just as hot, etc etc. that's why I find this so entertaining.

Or he maybe has realized that MacOS has a terminal with a really good built in SSH client (and that most *nix commands are usable in it) and it's easier when he mucks around with network and server stuff?

Jake seems to do a lot of the backend work at LTT. Especially networking. It's weird to admit but a MacBook is super capable for that sort of work.

He is way to attached to his XPS’s to use anything else.
