Can a 1660 Super run more resource demanding titles on a 1440p 144Hz monitor?

I am looking to build a budget friendly PC and I found a good deal for 1000€ where I get i5 11400F with a GTX 1660 Super. However, I decided to get a new monitor aswell and I'm wondering, can the GPU run a 1440p monitor well?

Unlikely fantastically. You might have had a leg up with an RTX card for DLSS titles but it's going to struggle at 1440p for new titles. Stuff 5 years and older shouldn't be so much of a problem.

I have TI version..yeah it can around 60 fps but you would need to tweak graphics settings.

Actually that is 1080p card for 144Hz gaming.

Not even my 3080Ti has enough power to max out some games at max settings and 1440p with 144hz.

might be a bit exaggerated, but i consider everything up to 2080ti/3070 to be a 1080p card.

but if you want about 100fps somewhat reliable at 1440p you require atleast something like a 1080ti/2070/3060 (low-medium settings)

 

with a 1660 Super at 1440p you might struggle on some games to even reach 60fps.

I have a 1070, and it struggles at 1440p with newer titles. Or Cyberpunk, where it has to run in 1080p. If you're thinking of getting a more powerful card as soon as prices become more reasonable, I'd still get the 1440p monitor though.

That's more of a 1440p 60-75 fps card for demanding games  or a 1080p 100-120 fps card fps card. Maybe you could meet in the middle and play games at like medium settings and get 80-95 fps at 1440p. On easy to run titles I'm sure you could easily archive 1440p at 120-144 hz, but on demanding games not so much. Most games that need high fps  (competitive shooters) are easy to run and you could probably archive high fps 1440p with those games, and just play demanding games(which are normally singeplayer) at 60 fps, unless you want to buy a better more expensive gpu in this market that's probably your best bet. If you have room in your budget, getting an RX 6600 xt or rtx 2060 might be a better choice beacause fsr and dlss will help a lot with getting more frames in games that support it.

You'll be running a lot of games on low settings to get 144fps at 1440p. I have a 3070 and can't get 144fps on a lot of games at 1440p
