I know, I know... I need a student laptop.

1. What is your budget? 700-800$

2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering? 13-15 inch

4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop? Just for school. Not for gaming or anything.

5. How much battery life do you need? For a full day, I guess, even though I think I can charge mid-class.

6. Do you want to play games with your laptop? No. But I want it to run smoothly (not graphics-wise).

7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? Maybe some light coding, mostly office apps and browsing.

8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need? Not much probably but better more than less. 0.5TB would be sufficent.

9. If you are considering specific sites to buy from, please post their links. Actually, I'll probably will be in a physical store in Israel so the budget is actually 1000$, but equal to 700-800$ in US stores. *pepesad*

10. How long do you want to keep your laptop? 4 years.

11. What kind of Optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer,Bluray ROM/Writer,Etc ? SSD. USB port :)

12. Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons. I don't give a poop if it's sturdy, reliable, and available in my country.

13. What country do you live in? Israel.

14. Please tell us any additional information if needed. Basically, I need a light laptop, with a good battery, runs smoothly and will last for 4 years.

Thank you, I know many people ask for recommendations and I'll appreciate every comment and suggestion! 😍

Lenovo Thinkpad E14 G3. Screen got finally upgraded from 250 nits to 300 nits (still 60% sRGB), and Battery went from 45 Wh to 57 Wh~, so it's a pretty solid allrounder at the Price range.

Might want to get 3-5 years premium-support for it (<50-80 bucks or something), so you're safe within that timespan.

I personally wouldn't get this HP Envy second hand, even NEW it's not worth 940 dollar in my Opinion (looking at Specs). Ideapad 5 Pro or Yoga Slim 7 Pro are much better choices, like double the CPU speed, MUCH better Display, not more expensive.

i'm not the biggest Thinkpad Fan (i had a few Macbooks in the last 3 years, now owning a M1 Macbook Pro, and have a T480s from Work. Also had a T490 for 3 Months. In my Opinion, the Thinkpads can't compete with the M1 Macbook, it's not even a competition how huge the differences are), but they are very sturdy. However, a second handed/refurbished T490.. maybe, depends on the Price.

I'd take the M1 Macbook Air base model, 8gb Ram and 256gb SSD is plenty enough for school work, and light stuff like coding, browsing, office, it does all the things right it needs. Trackpad, stupidly fast, unmatched battery efficiency, zero Noise, very good Display and speakers.

Sadly, 16gb Ram, or 16gb Ram + 512gb SSD configurations will increase the Price quite a lot.

Apple is not an option. I want Windows.

https://ksp.co.il/web/item/127199 this version of the Yoga Slim 7 Pro is 1,465$ (brand new)

https://ksp.co.il/web/item/152269 this version of the Yoga Slim 7 Pro is 1,500$ (brand new)

and again this https://support.hp.com/lv-en/document/c06575111 Envy 13 is 940$ second-hand in great condition.

I think my budget is 1000$ (in Israel) so 1,500 is a big jump and I don't think I'll benefit the differences?

Damn these prices, in Germany it's 999€ with Taxes, which is around 1200 USD.

Maybe Lenovo Ideapad 5 Pro? That thing starts at 750-800 here

Otherwise.. Envy 13 is a solid choice. i guess, or Thinkpad E14 G3~
