Is my PSU enough? 5600x / 3080 / 600w SFX psu

Srius1

I have a msi b450 ac plus board

5600x

nr200p

silverstone 600 w sfx psu

dell 3080.

‘is this 600w psu enough Or will I run into issues?

also I am running into issues where devices connected to a unpowered usb hub are behaving strange. They are turning on but windows isn’t detecting. Also what’s weird is my keyboard and usb devices were flickering. I turned on Prescion boost overdrive and that solved the flicker.

Any ideas?!

The issue with smaller PSUs is their capacitance (don't know the exact term). The 3080 and 3090 are known to pull a lot of power very suddenly, if that happens and your PSU cannot keep up, your computer will probably shut down. It should be fine on extended loads, but sudden spikes may tigger OPP or OCP (again, don't know the correct term)

I've had very good luck with my Corsair SF750 Platinum with a 5800x/3090. You don't have many options in that range. Cooler Master has an 850W unit that you might also want to look at, I have a few friends also using that with success.

its OCP that will be triggered if too much current is being pulled.

Gonna need a bigger PSU

Use a "powered" hub

PBO had nothing to do with your keyboard flicker

I’ve not run into any issues (other than the weird usb issues I said earlier).  Any idea on that:?

I'm willing to swim against the current.

I used a HX620watt Corsair with my 3700x and 3080 for ~6 months without any issues, used mostly for gaming, a little mining in the winter months..  I am not still running it because my 2nd system needed a new PSU so I moved that 620w over and got a 750watt for the 3080.

I don't know much about the silverstone sfx psu's.  The Corsair HX I have is a fairly good model.  Cheap 600-700 watt models generally are not able to handle the 3080 and would suggest getting a new 750 or higher like Mel0nMan suggest (maybe just not gigabytes).

The Silverstone SFX PSUs are supposed to be very good, but to be safe you should probably go with the SFX 700w model instead.  I have a 3080 Ti and use an 850w Cooler Master SFX PSU and the first one died after a week (could've just been a bad unit though).  The replacement has been running strong for over a month now.  If it dies again, I'm getting the Corsair SF750 or the Silverstone SFX 700

Yes I haven’t run into any shutdowns or crashes with the card. Not OC-ing. Just weird usb issues

Are your USB ports all disconnecting simultaneously for a second then reconnecting?

Yes, never had this issue with the previous 2 computer  connecected to these same hubs. Turning on prescion boost overdrive fixed it. But it was weird/

At least you were able to fix that.  I just had to return an ASUS Prime X570 board and 5900x because of that issue.  No matter what I tried, nothing would fix it.  Its apparently a pretty widespread issue for X570 and B550 chipset AMD boards, but was supposed to have been fixed with BIOS updates, but that didn't fix mine.  I even tried adding a PCIe USB expansion card and ONLY using that for my USB devices.  Ended up going back to Intel, not just because of the USB issue, I also had weird display problems too.

Did you ever try turning on prescion boost overdrive in bios? Randomly stumbled on that comment on YouTube
