i think its an IDE connector but not 100% sure.

I think it's IDE. I believe a lot of older laptops used a little adapter. I'll pull out my CD-ROM drive out of my broken Inspiron 5100 and snap a picture.

 

EDIT: Maybe I'm wrong.

I was about to guess micro sata, but now, it seems very proprietary to me.

yeah now that i realized that you said it was out of a compaq i remembered that they went all out on their own proprietary connectors and what not

Looks like has adapter to non proprietary from the pic above. Has same 2 connectors as that pic

The connector Mary tried to plug into the motherboard power.

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

After 2.5 hours I couldn't watch anymore. It burned. I need to find the archive.

While waiting for the pic to load up i read this and i was like OH NO THERE'S SOMEONE WHO DOESN'T KNOW WHAT AN IDE LOOKS LIKE ;___; sudden feelings of being old aren't nice.

I have the same interface on an old Compaq HDD. I don't know the name for it, but you can get adapters for it to turn it into IDE.

I think it is ^^^^ was looking for something looking like this as well and this seems to be what the connector is, but mine does look slightly different
