What Is My Memory Speed? (images)

I bought 2 of these: https://www.newegg.com/g-skill-64gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/N82E16820374061?Item=N82E16820374061

I went into BIOS and turned XMP on and set it to the timings listed in the Newegg link. So BIOS and AIDA say my speed is 3600, but Windows says its 2666?

AIDA says 2600 in 2 places but does list 2666 once, what does all that mean?

I thought maybe a Windows issue, but it doesn't do that for my friends. What is my speed actually at? And why would it be 2666 if it is?

Thanks.

Go get CPUz and use that to check. It would read the real speed set, so if its at 3600, it would show 1800 like mine does:

You have a really old version of CPU-Z.
Download the latest one, and check again.

Your CPU / motherboard might not even be supported on that old version of CPU-Z.

I don't see why it shouldn't be 3600. the only thing I can do is diable and recreate the XMP? It says 3600 in BIOS!

In my experience, Gigabyte BIOS's really are bad. Try manually setting your DRAM timings and speed using the Ryzen calculator found here:

BIOS version F33c is not a publicly released BIOS version on the Gigabyte website (on both v1.0 and v1.1/1.2 variants of the X570 Aorus Master motherboards).

You can try flashing the BIOS up to one of the newer ones (i.e.F33 or F34) and see if it fixes the XMP problem.

I got F33c from the website... so they did release it but it seems its removed?

I don't know what version I am to get? 1? 1.1/1.2?

Check the motherboard box, or bottom-left corner of the motherboard.

I flashed the BIOS to F34 but I used the REV 1.0 version, then I saw the last post and re-flashed but this time it went so fast so not sure it did anything since it was already a F34 version, so should I go back to F33 and redo with the right F34 version or is it good?

So after the re-flash of F34 that went fast I set the XMP, still no change in the speed, so I disabled the profile, and tried to set the timings manually, its my first time, not sure I did it correctly? I took a picture and updated the top 5 to what my RAM should be, I didn't touch anything under the ADVANCED timings. Should I have?

Not sure why CHA and CHB are showing the older timings? Don't know how to select and change those.. HELP!

y.jpg

Everything is still the same with those changed. Now that program, DRAM-Calculator-for-Ryzen-1.7.3, I can't seem to enter any values in the boxes, and trying to select any of the presets it just gives me a pop-up box to set the values?

I just re-enabled the profile with the timings set manually.. in my last image and restarted and it seems where it says DRAM Status its showing 2667? Come on...

honestly i only read that u set xmp and the timings manually, that was your first mistake imo, youre  only supposed to set xmp - check your manual  which profile, then boot up.

only if that doesnt work you have to set timings etc manually.

PS: also download newest GPUZ version, this could all just be false readings so far.

Did you try resetting the BIOS to defaults after flashing your BIOS?

I just built a Ryzen 5800X system over the weekend, using a Gigabyte B550 Aorus Pro AC motherboard, and all we had to do was enable XMP, and it was good to go...

You need to export the the settings from Thaiphoon burner, and import it into the Ryzen DRAM calculator.

Look for step-by-step instructions on how to do it properly online.

Actually, here are the steps:

Quote

You may need to bump up your SOC voltage to get DDR4-3600 stable with 2x 16GB sticks.

I believe stock / default is ~1.00V? Bump that up to 1.10V, and try again.
