Media Hint no longer free

TheWall

It's not exactly huge news but this kind of sucks for us Europeans who watch Netflix

So any good alternatives?

I'm assuming this is just a VPN? There's a certain sponsor *cough* hotspotshield *cough* that has a service you could try. A free alternative I've used is Hola Better Internet (a chrome extension).

Those prices are ridiculous, you can get a fully fledged VPN service for that money.

MIne is still working normally in FF though. :)

Not sure if you've tried it, but Hola? I know a friend that uses it, but since I'm in NA I use MediaHint. It's unfortunate that it has gone "premium".

Considering what you get and what it takes to run a VPN that isn't slow, there is a reason why most good VPN services are now "Premium" or "subscription based". This is because its nearly impossible to provide a quality VPN service for free or only through ads. $4 a month is NOT a lot that they are charging.

Plus as @dusty594 has mentioned, HotSpot Shield, which is a sponsor for LinusMediaGroup, is even cheaper over a year (I believe it's $30 a year), and you can receive a 10-20% Linus discount depending on the particular promo this month. Seriously that's half the cost of one 'AAA' game, for a years access to location restricted content. Best $30 I ever spent.

Didn't hola get bought out by some malware/adware/idkware company or something? I ain't gonna touch anything that has been bought by a company that buys companys for the sole purpose of spreading whatever it is they're spreading...

EDIT - Hola injects ads into websites, so i'm pretty sure that's adware. There's a way to disable it, but I really don't trust them anymore.

Why do you have so many tabs open?

I don't anymore, i just keep 2 or 3 different windows open for different things, much easier to navigate

Cyberghost is my new favourite it does take a bit to connect but its still pretty decent for free u get a limited choice of countries and ips within that country and of course u get a ton more if u pay but i think its great i like an actual desktop app over a chrome extension.
