CPU Making Company logo similar to a Japanese Kids Show in the 80s.

I was watching some tech news and I just noticed that this CPU Manafacturing Company, has a logo similar to Hikari Sentai Maskman. SiFive was founded in 2015 and Hikari Sentai Maskman was broadcasted in 1987. is this gonna a some sort of a Copyright Nightmare or not?

Honestly, at some point we have to discard the trademark system. You can't possibly protect billions and billions of designs. 

 

Also, they are in different industries so the scrutiny might be lesser than normal.

I'd be more worried about maskman being sued by power rangers.

Power Rangers is literally just a reskin of the Japanese Super Sentai franchise, of which Maskman is a part. Saban Entertainment literally took the battle footage from these shows and intercut them with newly shot footage in the US of the teenagers. 

 

As for the logo, there is a remarkable similarity to it, but unless there's a trademark on that logo, I'm not sure there's a lot to be enforced. And even then, if there's little to no chance of brand confusion, there's not much you can do. I assume the SiFive logo contains both the icon and the wordmark as part of single logo, so if that number 5 in the pentagon is never used without it, there's little in the way of brand confusion.

And Voltron is a near remake of Go Go Lions. Quite a few Battle Scenes from Go Go Lions is in the 1980's Voltron.
