I'm in line for.... A used 2080?!

Yep. This Best Buy had 30 hour lines for the 3080 Tie Fighter and so I decided it was best to hop in line.

The catch is, I can't actually afford a 3070 Ti. So my brother is getting a 3070 Ti, I'm upgrading my 3 GB 1060 to his old 2080 and paying him for it later. I am the one who isn't busy however, so here I am.... First in line at my local Best Buy for the 3070 Ti launch so I..... Can get a used 2080. Got a comfy chair, Switch and some books. If anyone asks why I'm in line, I'm telling them Best Buy is giving away money in the morning.

Is this it? Is this the way we live now?

(Worth noting, that's my boy. I would have done this for him for no benefit to myself.)

Yes. I am pretty sure an RTX 3080 Tie will be on sale if it isn't already.

If I were a dude I'd buy it and wear it ... heck I might buy it and wear it anyway. Dudes have a lot of strange things on ties. It and socks are one of the places where a guy can show personality in an otherwise conservative suit.

Update: After three hours in line, Best Buy kindly informed me it's an online only launch.

Then an Nvidia representative showed up and threw a paper airplane at me.
