So I came across a weird guy

So I was playing Tribes, normal. This guy shows up and I start making comments on his argument with some other people.

He got mad and started calling me autistic for liking Frozen, among other things.

He also kept telling me to "Read a book kid"

Hmmm, you want me to read a book?

-C.S Lewis (The Chronicles Of Narnia) 3+ times

-Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (The Adventures Of Sherlock Holmes) 2 times

-Harper Lee (To Kill a Mockingbird) 3 times

 

Well it would seem I'm well read. I then proceeded to block him, as it was the logical thing to do.

He leaves, then this pops up:

Now you see, that's my name. This didn't really phase me as it is rather easy to find someone's name on the internet. Especially if you know how.

We had a nice chat, then he said he was "going to go after the people I care about" and talked about sending them spoof emails about how they owe the government money and donating money to charity out of their bank accounts. I ask him if he does it for the reaction. He says

 

"I do it to break their sense of internet security."

 

Now, I don't know what possessed him to do this. I was pretty much just making comments on his argument and, as I am a Christian I was doing it without swearing or name calling. So yeah, people like this may or may not be the bane of the internet. SO he basically decided to do all this because of side comments I was making.

 

Then I remembered it was April Fools Day

 

I'm quite sure if he was being serious or not.

true the cops wont do shit like always, but its still illegal and if they wanted to find him they could easily by checking his log in and ip and ISP provider and so on, not very hard at all if they actually cared

we have an entire tv show starting soon where they go after and find people who insult and harrass people online and show them up on tv asking them wth they thought they were doing

Report him how? Through the game? Hirez won't care. They don't even update it anymore. Bans are handed out automatically if you get a certain number of reports with a set amount of time.

It is actually a punishable offense to threaten people as he did.  Although the likelyhood is nothing will be done.  The best you can do is just report to the game and hope that there happens to be someone who looks at the report.

 

 

On a side note, does Tribes:Ascend have the same flexibility as the original Tribes? (Starsiege Tribes)  Although I doubt anything could really compare to the flexibility of the original Tribes

Never played Starsiege. I've only played Ascend. It's aight, except for all the newbloods that are jerks. The guy that threatened me was like level 22 or something. So he classified as a "newblood jerk"

Now i am a Christian, a RC to be more specific and i do not understand what you are talking about here ^^^^ but if it works for you well....ok. From what you have said he seems to be one of those obnoxious human beings who likes to bully people. One thing i noticed is that you did not say what you were saying to him and only what he said and did to you. I like to have all the information before i make a judgement. Anyway, this is life and these are some of the things we must learn to deal with. As a christian i personally would have allowed him to see what my knuckles look like close up....many many times but if that isn't then you will need to find another way to deal with these type of people.
