Greetings,

I lately have not been getting the best thermals for my CPU (i9 10900K), with a MSI RTX 3090 Surpim X, Lian Li Galahad 360 AIO..

i have the lian li o11 dynamic, which keeps my GPU literally touching the glass.

I wanted to switch cases to the ASUS ROG Helios, but I was wondering if it could help with the thermals for my CPU potentially? And are the case fans (in the helios) enough alongside the cpu cooler?

+ is my cooler any good? Or would you suggest switching to the Aorus Waterforce 360mm Cooler?

since my CPU easily hits 90c playing games like Apex Legends.

I presume from what you said about the GPU touching the glass that you have the GPU mounted vertically. Have you considered simply mounting it a conventional horizontal orientation to give it breathing space? That would certainly be less expensive and labor-intensive than changing cases. The O11 Dyanamic is generally considered to have pretty good airflow and while I don't know a lot about the Strix Helios specifically I can't imagine it would be that much better. I think the vertical GPU mounting is your main issue.

It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.

The ROG Helios would be a downgrade from the O11 Dynamic.

If necessary, either opt. for the O11 Dynamic XL, or get something like the Phanteks P500A.

Don't get anything with a solid front panel or non-optimal airflow, mesh cases preferably.

I mean the GPU temps are fine.

I’m just deeply struggling with my CPU Temp.

here’s a picture of my current build.

any advice would be great

OK. Not sure why you mentioned the GPU if its temps aren't a problem and it's clearly not touching the glass?

What is the configuration of all of your fans including the radiator ones? What's intake and what's outtake?

It's a 10900K, I wouldn't much short of 90°C under load anyways. Although have you tried remounting the cooler? Or setting a locked VCore in BIOS?

Getting a new case wouldn't fix anything.

I’ve tried remounting it, taking it to a shop, and applying better thermal paste.

During gaming sessions (Destiny, and others), I get spikes to near 85 c.

but in others like Apex (which I believe isn’t that CPU heavy), I easily get 90c after 20-30 minutes of gaming.

I have not messed around in the BIOS settings since I’m not that knowledgable, and when I took the pc to the shop, they did go into it and mention it all looks good.

I’m just mentioning what I’ve noticed. The cable from the GPU is touching the glass, and at that touching point it gets pretty hot.

the bottom fans do push out considerable air, which would make them exhaust fans.

the vertical fans are intake.

You said your problem is with the CPU temp, so what are the fans for the CPU radiator doing? Intake or exhaust?

i would change the front fans to intake.  or intake from the top. the gpu intakes air thow the fans and out the side at the glass and mb but this is stander in every case.  but we also dont no what your ambient temp is. i mean you can do a test and take the side panel off and see the temps then. the 011 is not the best case for airflow but its far from the worst.

He already said the front fans (the vertical ones) are intake.

So, unless your pics are wrong:

Your case bottom fans are intake, and the Rad Fans and Vertical Fans are all Exhaust.

(The Frame side of the fans is the side the air blows through, so the bottom are bringing in air.)

Are your pics wrong?

Good eye.

I'd switch the vertical fans to intake for real before I did anything more extreme.
