Iphone 13 fingerprint sensor rumors

Has anyone heard any credible rumors that the iphone 13 will have a fingerprint scanner?  I am waiting to see if I need to repair my 8plus's back glass or buy a new 13 when it comes out.

Depending on the source you go to you'll see yes or no. It's been rumoured for years. So I wouldn't put any weight into anything one way or the other, just have to wait and see.

There are a lot of "rumors" saying that the iPhone 13 will have an in display fingerprint scanner. How credible those are? Your guess is as good as mine. 

 

I'd say, if your iPhone 8 Plus still does everything you want it to (in my case mine still does) I'd keep it and replace the glass only if you really need to.

 

For me personally, It's going to take a lot for me to upgrade form my 8 Plus. The new iPhones are simply too expensive. I'd love a new one, but the prices for a 64GB model are crazy.

I am not a chaser of new and shiny things, but I have had this phone since new and it needs a new front screen, back glass, mute switch (it's still in there, but you gotta ago looking for it to get it to work) and battery (down to 70%).

It's time for either an upgrade or big repair.

I'm willing to spend the money on a device I use everyday.  The price, while steep, is worth it for me.  

But as you and I have discussed @DrMacintosh, NO FINGERPERINT SENSOR, NO BUY!!!

Sounds like that iPhone has been through a lot. You certainly are in a tough position. The next iPhone is about half a year away with no guarantees that the next one will offer what you want. 

 

If you're otherwise happy with the 8 Plus, go for the repair option. It's still a perfectly good phone to use in 2021.

I think if we do see a fingerprint sensor, it's going to be similar to the one that is found on the new iPad.
