how can I put a rf lens on to a efm

1 minute ago, GDRRiley said:

there is 5 bodies on RF mount and only 3 are likely in your range. RP, R and R6
first gen R/Ra Rp
2nd gen R3 R5 R6

the Panasonic S5 would be near the top, if you can deal with the not great AF. A7iii needs an update with better video options

okay

Sure, but you can always use the EF lenses on newer bodies with adapters.

As always when manufacturers make a complete mount change there's a period where it's a mess, if you upgrade the body to the latest gen there aren't enough interesting lens options yet so you have to use old lenses with adapters.

Would also recommend looking at Sony, they went through the same thing but that was 6 years ago so the transition is pretty much over and there's a big choice of native lenses and well provlen adapters for almost any kind of 3rd party ones.

Just because they aren’t making new EF designs, doesn’t mean you can’t use the literally 36+ years worth of lenses that Canon has designed and made. Most of the new RF models are simply upgraded refreshes of EF lenses. There are some unique outliers but I don’t think you’ll be needing those.

I've seen you post A LOT of camera hardware questions and I've been meaning to ask. What is your current stuff not able to do? A lot of the time I see people hardware hop is because they don't have a good grasp of fundamentals and they think it's the gear. Not saying so to be insulting, just trying to get a feel for what you think new stuff will do for you.

How low of light? I have shot a good amount of a 7d, and its really not that bad, and a good amount worse than the m50.

What do you mean about not nice fhd? Can you show a example, 1080p on the m50 should look fine, and really not limit you much here.

The m50 probalby isn't a big limit here for general work, and you can get pretty good footage from it.

What lenses and gear do you have currently?

Can you show a example of footage that you don't like? Id focus on improving your technique before buying gear.

I don't understand how you took his statement to mean they're not making them anymore. They're just not making any new lenses...this statement doesn't say anything about them ceasing production of their current lineup. They might simply see their catalog as covering the bases it needs to, and the market not being a great place to launch new stuff for a few years. Which would make sense. IIRC Canon is also notorious for slow rolling any updates.
