Upgrading Pc

Dude, you have a board that DOES support the AMD 5000 series CPUs.

Flash your BIOS, and get a 5000 series chip.  Don't go through the headache of the other upgrades.

Clearly u havent read the thread,

All the 5000 series chips are double in price rn due to scalping.

The intel i5 11400f or non f cpu and mb together will cost me less than a 5xxx series chips

you can find them with a little work.  Yes, it sucks, but they do exist.

But whatever, it's your money do what you want.

Looking to squeeze  out max performace.

Either way, you have to spend more than 300+ dollars. if you want maximum performance you have to pay more it.

11400f is 209.99 and slightly worse than the 5600x

The way I see it, the 5600X is slightly better than the 11400F.

We gave our thoughts and suggestions, and it is too much money for you. I'm sorry, but what do you want from us? To tell you to go and buy the 11400F? You seem to act like this is your only sensible option, if you have good reason or just really want to, then buy it.

"What cpu cooler would best suit my needs?"

From my original comment you would see i am asking for recommendations on cpu coolers

You should have asked that here:

https://linustechtips.com/forum/28-cooling/

Since the question was in the middle of your other details, I assumed you needed help planning your system upgrade. You see how that would create confusion posting all this in New Builds and Planning

Budget (including currency): ~500$CAD

Country: Canada

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mostly gaming (mainly rust), and some light programming for school

Other details

Im looking to upgrade from a Ryzen 5 2600 to a Intel i5 11400f

The Deepcool Case I already own

What cpu cooler would best suit my needs?

Looking to squeeze  out max performace.

i already own a Gtx 1660 super which i will be pairing it with

Anyway, Checkout the Noctua NH-U9S CPU cooler.

Going from <https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i5-11400F-vs-AMD-Ryzen-5-2600/4111vs3955> (not RUST specific) you would most likely see 10-15% improvement in frame rate in the best case. That's less than 10 fps improvement near 60 fps.

As others have mentioned, upgrading to the i5-11400F would require a motherboard replacement. PC Parts Picker lists the ASRock H510M-HDV as being available for $106 CAD. Combined with the ~$200-230 CAD for the i3-11400F the ~$300 CAD subtotal is a fair bit of money for an improvement small enough that you likely won't notice it outside of benchmarks.

Currently my fps in rust dips down alot,

which is a cpu intensive game. In alot of benchmarks the 11400f outperforms the ryzen 5 2600 by fair amount.

Don't go from amd to intel cuase you need to change your mobo to or eles go for ryzen 7 2700 you will also get a stock cooler which is decent enough
