Help running Corsair Vegeance LPX 3200 at rated speed.

First time building a PC last March. I thought I had all the parts matched well, but maybe not with the RAM.

I have a Aorus Elite Wifi Rev 1 X570 mobo, Ryzen 3800X. The RAM is Corsair Vengeance LPX, CMK32GX4M23200C16, which was selected because I have a dark rock pro 4 cpu cooler. Lpx fits under it with ease. Gigabyte's website even lists as compatible RAM capable of running at rated speed with XMP enabled. However, it will not bump up to the 3200 mhz on xmp. Just stays at the stock speed of 2133. I have tried tweeking something settings in bios, but have had no luck it getting anything to stick. Any help or advice to get the memory to run at the 3200 mhz speed would be extremely appreciated. Thank you.

if xmp wont work just manually set the RAM to 3200mhz.  there should be a option somewhere in the bios to do that.  Usually its listed with cpu overclocking

I have a set of those in 2x8GB, the XMP profile is garbage. The fastest I got mine were 2866 at 1.37v. And even then, it wasn't perfectly stable.

I have done that, and it won't stick unfortunately.

I will have to try that speed again, with that voltage. I tried 2800 mhz, and sadly was unable to even have that stick. But, I think I was using 1.38v. Slightly disappointing considering they are listed as able to run full speed on the mobo list.

I agree. I currently have mine running 2133 because I got tired of failed attempts corrupting windows.

Ryzen and Corsair RAM together tend to be problematic (Unfortunately).
I can't count the number of posts about such as this involving Corsair RAM with Ryzen setups making someone want to pull their hair out.

Seriously - Grab a decent set of G. Skills and you'll see the difference.

also just here to say that Corsair's ram is usually overpriced 99% of the time.

I Use my knowledge as business owner and self taught technician aswell as an AI to help people. AI might be controversial but it actually works pretty well 90% of the time.

I am definitely looking into swapping over to G.Skill, and maybe holding onto these for an intel build later on. Just need the funds and to find a good G.Skill set that fits under the Dark Rock Pro 4. I may possibly change cpu coolers, maybe to an AIO, one that gives more ram clearance. Opening up my ram height limits.

That's something to keep in mind. I am fairly new to the space of pc building. So pricing for parts is a little harder for me to discern which is the better deal at this time.

In particular SK Hynix (Vengeance mostly) modules, from all manufacturers.

This RGB kit kicks ass though. Should run well in most all systems.

Only Corsair LPX with M2Z in the model has good compatibility with Ryzen. All others (M2B/M2C/M2D/M2E) is a hit or mis.

Well that probably depends on the motherboard?

I have 2 kits of those and had zero issues to get them run at their speed,  the 3000 only ran at 2933 though because it was paired with a 2200G...

They don't oc for shit,  but they do run at what's written on the package,  in my experience. (The trick is profile 2, profile 1 insta BSOD, even though it has the exact same settings lol)

Vengeance Hynix vs Trident Z Samsung B-Die

Ryzen Athlon 220GE max clocks benching PiFast

This was my experience with the two memory sets last month.

Run PiFast with your best stable OC.

Then try and beat your first run by a second even with an unstable OC.

Depends on the used dram chips. Every model has several versions and every version use different dram chips. The version number is written on the sticks next to the model number.

I've got two sets of lpx 3200 - one is sk hynix m die and the other is Samsung b die

They both work 4x8 right now at 3200 xmp on my z370 board without issues.

Neither one seemed to enjoy being on my 1600/b450 - eventually had to settle at 2933.

This is another reason to consider an AIO - RAM compatibility with air coolers and cases is rough and you're very limited

Indeed, but my concern with AIO, is that the tubes will have to be at the top of the radiator. Due to the size of my GPU, there is no way to have them on the bottom. I am worried about it choking out the cpu cooler with air instead of water. If I go AIO, I really prefer a 240mm, considering my CPU, which only fits in the front of my case. I am thinking about the idea of AIO. But for now, it works. Need to think on things.

the tubes being on the bottom or top isn't really an issue, as long as the pump itself isn't the highest point in your loop.

front mount is fine as intake, it is how i have mine set up. doesn't really affect the gpu.

Amazon has the G Skill listed at 1.73 inches or 43mm.

I don't know if the dark rock is like Noctua where you could take the fan on the front and put it on the back. I'd imagine it is. So with the fan facing RAM, it wont fit, but if you moved the fan to the other side yes.

Edit: there's plenty of builds using that RAM and cooler without moving the fan.

I will look into it. The RAM closest to the cpu ends up under the heatfins on it, which is a hard clearance, no moving that. But I am fairly certain it is 44mm under that point. This is good info to know.
