Hi  new to the forums.

I recently bought a new pc(built myself)for my son.

SPEC: Ryzen 7 5700G

            32 Gb Ram

            Asus Prime A320M-K

I'm using his current SSD in the new system but I can't get past the Asus logo.

The machine resets itself every time over and over.

I changed the SSD from MBR to GPT as the bios is UEFI.(not sure if that's what I should of done) but I'm having the same problem.

I've tried all the windows help sections and nothing fixes it.

Hopefully someone here can help.

Kind regards. 👍👍

it isn't really recommended to use an existing windows install on a new system

Welcome to the forums!
Oooh, that's thorny.
Have you updated the BIOS? Needs at least Rev 5862

No that experienced on updating the bios.

I have a long time ago but not recently.

Can it be done without booting into windows?

Thanks for your help.

I've managed to update it so thank you.

Went through the install for Windows thinking I've cracked it and when it restarted it's now telling me that there isn't a drive connected with Windows on it.

I give up!! 🤣

you should set up the boot priority in the bios, it's probably not hitting the drive for some reason

Is a new drive within the realm of possibility? It sounds like there is something just utterly wonky on the one you have installed.

It's only a year old and has only been used for course work and general browsing.

I will check and see. Thank you

Boot priority is set to the correct drive.

I've tried the drive in another machine and it boots up no problem so it has to be either a faulty board or something in the bios that's forcing it to restart.
