would you swap 3080 to 6800 xt or 6900 xt ?

Hey guys, considering many 3080 have memory overheating issue and throttling, maybe getting rid of 3080 or 3090 would be good option ? Would you change your 3080(if you have one) to AMD card, considering very hot GDDR6X memory and degradation in performance due to it ?

After the crap NVidia did late last year and early this year, I wouldn't consider the 30 series to begin with.

I wouldn't swap because I went with the 6800 XT in the first place. Shortages and controversies ignored, AMD just made more sense for me. 1440p high refresh, had a 2070 and never used RTX. I don't stream or edit. The higher VRAM numbers made more sense for me.

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I think i would sale 3080 and maybe for that money i would get amd card. I believe you that amd user won't swap his card at all, because it doesn't have such problems and performs well and Raytracing is just gimmic

I would just fix the 3080/3090. Thermal issues are solvable, worse performance and capability cannot be solved.

I'd keep the Nvidia card, but tbf I do actually use shadowplay, DLSS, RTX in any games that support it, and play a lot of Fallout 4 (which apparently can have issues with AMD cards that require further patch mods to fix). That and I've had a terrible time with any of AMD's software/drivers since late 2019/early 2020 or so.

Some people have had driver issues with the 6000 series. That being said, I got my card when the 6900 xt was released. People were too focused on that and AMD completely restocked. I got a 6800xt and 5800x in the same order from AMD direct. I haven't had any of the driver crashing or anything. I'm also undervolted and slightly underclocked on both though.

had 3080, sold it got a 6800xt, same shit different smell, but less power needed and lower temps. would do again
