ok thanks. speaking of which do you know of any that would be good?

There are many that are good, but you will need to measure the distance from the socket to the side panel. The G5 case is not as wide as normal cases so you will be constrained to whatever fits inside. That is if you want to be able to close the side panel. If you don't care you go as big as it gets with the cooler. Generally speaking you can fit in a cooler as big as the rear exhaust fan. Yours is 92mm, so you can fit a cooler that has a fan not bigger than 92mm as well. The Noctua NH-U9S Chromax Black is quite a good one for the size. You can take a look at that one. The Noctua NH-D9L is a small dual tower heatsink. Also quite a good one.

You could buy a 120mm AIO, but they're not worth it over a decent air cooler.

That case has a very small exhaust in the back, 92mm if I recall correctly. This means there is no way you can attach a radiator and fan that is 120mm or 140mm, which are the sizes for standard AIOs. Best you can do is something like the Liquidmaster Maker 92, but I don't really know if it will perform as good as a normal AIO. That thing is tiny. I think you are better off just sticking to a better designed air cooler instead.

Short answer, no.

What are the full specs of your system and how much were you going to spend on trying to upgrade this?

The money might be better spent on stripping the dell for a new build.

Yes you actually can. I have a 240mm aio on my dell g5 5000 plus 2 front 120mm fans as well lol
