Hey everyone, just built my first pc and I'm new to overclocking and I feel like I'm gettingthe hang of it but I have some questions. I'm running as the title says a ryzen 5 3500x and I have it running 4.5v at 4.3ghz which seems a bit aggressive to me... However, I'm only hitting 68c tops! Is that a sign that I can go further? It's on a x570 board and has a large but cheap river 5 cooler that seems to be handling the heat awesome! What's everyone's thoughts?

In my experience, Ryzen isn't that much temperature limited, but more just 'silicon limited'.

Are you sure you have it set to 4.5v? Usually you something more in the range of 1.35v is what people run.

There's no way you're running 4.5V. At 4.5V, your CPU would have melted.

Do you mean 1.5V?

Either way, don't go that high. Try to stay at or under 1.35V. Otherwise you can degrade your CPU.

PLEASE STOP [Killing] ME I WILL GIVE Y OU ANOTHER DEAL.

Yes, 1.51249 to be exact. My bad

Thats alot of vCore for a extra 100mhz.  Its recommended that you run 1.35v max on those chips.

I run 1.39375 on first gen Ryzen, and have had no issues.  But anything over 1.4vCore is a nope for me unless its just to try to run 1 benchmark.

EDIT - I have the River 5 on my 3600, and its a good cooler, and looks good to.

Forgive me but wouldn't the Temps be way higher if it was overboard?

The temps are one factor, but you can cool excessive voltage kind of easily (especially with less cores) but voltage degradation can happen separately

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B
