If you're having issues during POST/BIOS, this is a hardware issue and nothing to do with drivers. As long as the cable and monitor check out, you're looking at getting a RMA

Hello all, sorry for the reading but I want to be precise (sry for bad english if there's mistake)

first, my systeme is :

-5900x amd

-PSU 1200 platinium

-GPU 1070 msi

-RAM 16 Go corsaire 3200MHz

-MB X570 aorus Master

It is working perfectly, but I finnaly got a 6800XT XFX at reasonable price. I installed it like my 1070 but first start was really slow (1-2min) and 720p and 5fps, litterally.

I installed drivers but it crashed midway and no way to output anything...

I replugged my 1070 checked forums and did the following:

-Bios update

-every pilot update

-used 2 wire for each 8pins connector

-rebooted contless time

Nothing worked but once I plugged the diplay port while booting it accutaly worked, so i reinstalled amd pilote with amd card plugged. the resolution was back to normal but fps were not amazing (15-30)

so i did a reboot and black screen is back...

Finnaly I tried to unistall all GPU pilot using DDU but still no output. I reinstalled my trustworthy 1070 and nvidia pilote to actually use my computer... back to square one.

I send a ticket to XFX but no news so if you have any ideas of what may cause a problem or what to do please help.

Best regards.

A sad potatoes.

Looks like you'd gotten a dud, but I'm curious, where exactly didcha get the card "at reasonable price"?

@tonio000Try using the utility DDU here to uninstall the NVIDIA drivers before installing the AMD graphics card. AMD and NVIDIA's drivers don't always play nice together.

Main: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D, Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti, 16 GB 4400 MHz DDR4 Linux - Fedora

@svmlegacy Thanks for the reply but as i said before I did try using DDU but I coudn't have display output to reinstall amd drivers...

With ou without driver the card do not output anyting or only ramdomly

Let me get this clear... do you even get a BIOS POST image on screen during startup?

Main: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D, Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti, 16 GB 4400 MHz DDR4 Linux - Fedora

Im having somewhat same issues. XFX MERC 319 6800xt. Was working fine, then crashed after running game for a couple hrs. Afterwards could not get signal on screen, black screen, but system seemed to be "alive" otherwise.

System specs:

5600x
32GB 3600 Kingston
ASUS ROG 550-F

ASUS ROG 850W

Later testet this card in my "test bench":
9900k
ASUS ROG Z390
32 GB 3200 Kingston
Corsair 750W RMx

Both systems work perfectly with other graphics cards.

In the second system, the card "came back to life". However, as soon as I installed the drivers from AMD and tried running Heaven Benchmark, it crashed. Afterwards, black screen, no startup logo. After 3 startups, artifacts on screen, but at least screen.Tried to restart in safe mode, no artefacts.

Also have a 6700xt which I will test, and post later about the results.
