Im creating an account to hopfully radio this out as loud as possible and commuicating in anyway possible to get Linus to pull his video on nicehash and do some more reasurch behind the acts of the company over the last few days. They pulled Phoenix support as it had an exploit in it that was a massive security risk. What you linked was posted in 2017 as well

PhoenixMiner isn't a competitor per se. It's just another miner of which NiceHash can include many. MEGA took it down and NiceHash fucked up by accidentally downloading a fake version 5.5d. They were right to warn their customers, but not to condemn PhoenixMiner. If you don't trust PM, don't use it. If you don't trust NH, don't use it.
