Is an rx 460 worth selling?

Oliver Michael

I have an old rx 460, I've already upgraded past it and am a little strapped on cash for my new build. WIll anyone buy it? Or will it sit unbid for a long time? I'm thinking of doing a starting bid somewhere in the range of $35-45

If you're actually being serious, then yes, it's most definitely worth selling. You can get a lot more than that for it though, and it'll probably sell pretty quickly.

Main System: Phobos

AMD Ryzen 7 2700 (8C/16T), ASRock B450 Steel Legend, 16GB G.SKILL Aegis DDR4 3000MHz, AMD Radeon RX 570 4GB (XFX), 960GB Crucial M500, 2TB Seagate BarraCuda, Windows 10 Pro for Workstations/macOS Catalina

Secondary System: York

Intel Core i7-2600 (4C/8T), ASUS P8Z68-V/GEN3, 16GB GEIL Enhance Corsa DDR3 1600MHz, Zotac GeForce GTX 550 Ti 1GB, 240GB ADATA Ultimate SU650, Windows 10 Pro for Workstations

Older File Server: Yet to be named

Intel Pentium 4 HT (1C/2T), Intel D865GBF, 3GB DDR 400MHz, ATI Radeon HD 4650 1GB (HIS), 80GB WD Caviar, 320GB Hitachi Deskstar, Windows XP Pro SP3, Windows Server 2003 R2

I'll keep that in mind
What would you think a starting bid should be?

2GB or 4GB version? GPU market is insane right now, so you might able to get ~$150 USD if you find the right buyer.

Main PC:

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X • Noctua NH-D15 • MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk • 2x8GB G.skill Trident Z Neo 3600MHz CL16 • MSI VENTUS 3X GeForce RTX 3070 OC • Samsung 970 Evo 1TB • Samsung 860 Evo 1TB • Cosair iCUE 465X RGB • Corsair RMx 750W (White)

Peripherals/Other:

ASUS VG27AQ • G PRO K/DA • G502 Hero K/DA • G733 K/DA • G840 K/DA • Oculus Quest 2 • Nintendo Switch (Rev. 2)

Laptop (Dell XPS 13):

Intel Core i7-1195G7 • Intel Iris Xe Graphics • 16GB LPDDR4x 4267MHz • 512GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD • 13.4" OLED 3.5K InfinityEdge Display (3456x2160, 400nit, touch).

Got any questions about my system or peripherals? Feel free to tag me (@bellabichon) and I'll be happy to give you my two cents.

PSA: Posting a PCPartPicker list with no explanation isn't helpful for first-time builders :)

Quick look at completed transactions on eBay suggest you could probably get at least $100 for it, probably $150 like @bellabichon said.  I'd say go for it.

It's entirely possible that I misinterpreted/misread your topic and/or question. This happens more often than I care to admit. Apologies in advance.

Yes, sell it now, the price is very good, you can actually sell it more than it's worth.

I would sell my RX580 right now if i (can) have other (decent) gpu, since the price is tripple of what i've paid.

Ryzen 5700g @ 4.4ghz all cores | Asrock B550M Steel Legend | 3060 | 2x 16gb Micron E 2666 @ 4200mhz cl16 | 500gb WD SN750 | 12 TB HDD | Deepcool Gammax 400 w/ 2 delta 4000rpm push pull | Antec Neo Eco Zen 500w

It's worth selling because it's not worth using to mine with.

I could sell my RX 580 Red Devil 8GB for $400 easy right now. Or I could mine with it and make $400 in 4 months pretty easy...and in another 4 months have another $400.

The price is effecting all RX cards, even the non mining cards are expensive, since everyone is looking for a good enough gaming card while the mining craze is still high. $100 a month from a single card? yeah i'm mining right now.

Not with the 460 lol, that's going to barely break even with the cost of electricity, like 20 cents a day in profit?
