Xbox 360 controller to Xbox Series S/X controller worth the upgrade?

kingmustard

The Xbox Wireless Controller was updated a third time, this time for the Series S/X consoles.

The third-gen Xbox Wireless Controller and Wireless Adapter for Windows is currently £52 on Amazon, which is the cheapest it has been for a while.

However, £57 is still quite a lot of money, especially considering I have no major issues with my Xbox 360 controller in any games.

Are there any features I'm missing between my 360 controller and this controller?

The immediate bonuses I can think (having used both 360 and XB1 controllers today) of are: better/tighter on-center sticks, lighter and more comfortable triggers, nicer vibration (mainly due to the trigger vibration which is nice for Forza), and the headphone jack (for whatever that might be worth).

I would say Bluetooth is a bonus, but quite frankly these are the finickiest motherfuckers known to man when it comes to Bluetooth, so you'd almost have to get the dongle if you wanted wireless (though at least the new dongles aren't the size of the Titanic).

My 360 controller worked fine for a number of years. My XBox One controller died 6 months after I bought it.

If you really want Wireless, then... Uh, if you're using PC, get a PS4 or PS5 controller?

If you've got an XBox, then just stick with the 360 controller. Honestly, if I could get one, I probably would. It's very hard to recommend a $70 product with a 90 day warranty.
