Hi,

My desktop has been getting fixed so I have been using a monitor with a laptop and love the extra screen. What are your opinions on a second desktop monitor and is it worth it? I do a lot of editing, at least 500 photos a week.

I currently have a alienware 24 inch monitor 3d 120hz 1080p, powered by a GTX 470, used to have 2 but one broke and im trying to get it fixed or buy a second again.

What do you think would be better 2 1080p monitors, 1 1080p and one 1440p or just sell my current one and buy a 1440p.

Also I might be upgrading graphics card soon what would you recomend.

Thanks

It helps alot. I'm looking for one that I can rotate 90 degrees for coding. Not too sure if your current graphics card can do well on 1440p let alone 1080p. Whats your budget on a graphics card?

It does fine on 1080p smashes anything really. Ill be getting a 770 or 870 for next graphics card and eventually sli like i did with the 470, but upgrade could be abit off

Yes it is worth it. I had to before when I was on a laptop, but now I don't. I really need to get another one. So convenient for everything, like live streams, music, videos...

for just 2 monitors there is no reason for them to match, and unless one wants to use nvidia surround or amd eyefinity when having 3 it wont matter then either.

i used to have a 24" a 22" and a 40" TV :P before i bought my 3 BenQ's

Depends on what you want to do. Personally I think a single 1440 IPS would make games look better but two 1080 monitors are so helpful for multitasking and work in general.

I would probably go for a cheaper asus or something like that, especially if you only plan on using it as a side monitor :)  but price and quality is up to each person and how kind of money they got :P but there are quite a few here that know about monitors and can find you something good for less :)

Looks like a great monitor, but if you're in a budget you could look into this one too: http://www.ebay.com/itm/271301691699?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

you're giving up on the usb hub, extra connectivity (no hdmi) and some stand flexibility but it's $100 less. If you're in no kind of budget though, the P2314H is great. I'd love to get one myself at the end of the year :)

I love running dual monitors. Got one 21.5" LG 1080p, and an old Dell 17" 1280x1024 as my secondary. I usually use the Dell for monitoring my GPU OC's/temps while gaming, or for watching shows as I browse the web on my main monitor.

Eventually my LG will get moved to secondary duties, but that probably won't be for a few years as my next "monitor" investment will the the Oculus Rift.

Never say it's not broken. Everything is broken. Why? Because everything needs MOAR POWA!
