Is the Pixel 4 XL Worth it?

Zack Bryson

Hello,

I'm pretty new to technology and especially phones. And I had a few questions regarding the Pixel 4 XL. So, I found this phone extremely cheap in Amazon here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0824B6LQ2/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B0824BR684&linkCode=as2&tag=adamreviews07-20&linkId=2ffa117bd4d7714d6e72736736fdf826&th=1 . And I wanted to know why it might be so cheap?

Also, regarding pixel(s), I had the following questions.

  • When I purchase it from Amazon, I've heard that I will automatically get the newest version of android downloaded onto my phone from the start. Is this true?
  • For the three years of updates, what is the newest version of android do you think it'll support? IE: 11, 12, 13 etc.
  • Also, I want to swap over to Mint Mobile, do you think this is possible? I've heard that there's no support for like sd cards and stuff, so.
  • Does this phone offer the 5g capabilities?
  • Do you think 64gigs is enough storage? Cause the price for the 128 gig option is pretty expensive compared to this offer.

I wouldn't.

As for your questions:

  • As for storage, only you can answer if that's enough or not. We don't know your usage, only you do.
  • No, it doesn't have 5G.
  • You'd have to check if it supports the bands Mint Mobile uses.
  • It's 3 years from launch, not from when you buy it. So probably 12 (I'm not 100% sure which it came with, if you look up the software it launched with, add 3).

Pretty poor battery life, it's a refurb unit so you can likely find something else used for a better deal...like a OnePlus 7T.
