What is the AVX and SSE4.2 instruction set and how do I know if my cpu supports it?

AVX and SSE4.2 are instruction sets used by the microprocessor to carry out processes/instructions. Your Ryzen 7 3700X supports both instruction sets.

I was thinking about buying a new game but when I saw the requirements it said that my CPU has to support the AVX and SSE4.2 instruction set. How do I know if  my CPU supports the  AVX and SSE4.2 instruction set and what are they?
I have a ryzen 7 3700x and the game I'm talking about is Yakuza Like a Dragon/Yakuza 7 (not sure if it is important to refer).

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.

True,those instructions were first featured on Intel CPUs 10 years ago with Sandy Bridge in 2011.

i7-990X from 2011 and older don't have AVX. Most Intel CPUs have had AVX since 2nd gen except Pentiums and Celerons. AMD FX (Bulldozer) and newer have AVX.

SSE4.2 has been on most CPUs since Intel 1st gen and AMD FX (Bulldozer)
