9k, 65mp, 10Gb/s - 9x7 Large Format Digital Cinema Camera

9x7 Cinema Camera from Achtel an Australian Company shoots in 9k, 65Mp and records at 10Gb/s and cost $140k. They claim 18.6k delivery but the sensor is 9.3k x 7k so I assume it’s some double scan trickery. There isn’t a lot of info about the record media or sensor manufacturer. I don’t know much about cameras but 10Gb/s recorded to an media sounds unachievable. I know LMG just got 12k camera but I wonder how premier or the new fiber lan would do with these files. Click one of the sample links at the bottom of the page they load like 56k used too.

It looks insane for the size, the camera body is absolutely tiny. Of course you need attachements to make it work, but it's still minuscule compared to the lens.

Main Rig : 5600X, NH-U14s, MSI B550 Gaming Plus, 32GB DDR4 3200, MSI RTX 3070

This.... Seems like a scam?

I could be wrong, but this doesn't seem quite right.

what is not really clear is how they save the data and how you transfer it off the camera.

they only mention 4TB or 8TB internal storage which can only realistically be something like NVME SSD´s in RAID0 or directly soldered on NAND flash.

They make underwater cases for the Sony Venice a full frame pro camera so I don’t think it’s a scam.

From their product page “The recording bandwidth is about twice as much as Thunderbolt 3 at full capacity. The processing bandwidth is even higher and exceeds 30 GBytes/s, all of which to preserve incredible image fidelity that 9x7 has been designed for”.

I agree it has to NVME or some non volatile RAM chips or something to get that kinda speed. It sounds almost to good to be true.

Yeah...

I don't think it's a scam, but something's up.

Maybe? I sincerely doubt that it is as good as they say.

It may be capable of that bitrate, but I doubt that resolution is going to look very good coming out of that sensor.

Maybe instead of 9K resolution at 65 megapixels, It's 9 pixels by 65 pixels.

U

Looks really good. I also would not say that it is a scam but you can never know. I would research a bit more about the company. But at this prices?? Have you though about getting a RED, Arri or Ursa mini.
