Will the Tarrifs on Chinese goods affecting graphics cards and other electronics, will they affect the price of graphics cards in Canada?

I am still hoping to eventually be able to get a new graphics on retail price, but hearing about the recent tarrifs coming into effect, I was wondering if the prices in Canada will be affected?

If tariffs are in effect for imports from China, there's always the possibility as the companies pay the tariffs. I haven't heard of Canada putting tariffs on China tho. If America has them, and you buy from American stores, there is again the possibility. I doubt the increases would be much if at all

Either @piratemonkey or quote me when responding to me. I won't see otherwise

It might be that Canada imports graphics cards from the US. Then the tarrifs would apply aswell.

Welcome to the forums!!!

I hope the new Administration can reverse the tariffs and restore trade agreements between the two countries. As other's have mentioned above,  if Canada imports the graphics cards from the US, the tariffs will also carry over since someone will have to pay, which will fall on us, the consumers.

I hope so - otherwise I might consider moving to Canada.

from what i heard from my brother few days back, he said tarrifs were a trump thing and they will be dismissed in Joe Biden's Administration

Most likely will happen. Just a matter of when. Just hurts consumers in the end as prices will go up and consumers will not (logically speaking) spend as much and look elsewhere.

The increase is about 25%. The second card i purchased had the new tariff prices applied and it was almost $200 more. This was from a microcenter too so I know it is 100% the tariff cost being transferred to the consumer.
