NVMe will it work in my MB?

ToxicT

i built my system a good while back now

thing is ive never once thought about using a m.2 or nvme drive.

and now think maybe its time to step over as i know these have alot better read wrtie on them,

can anyone point me in the right direction for a nvme that will fit it.

bit unsure as i was reading a while back that some m.2 drives are only as quick as a new release ssd (up to date) but nvme are the bees ;-)

currently using two SSd for my system and a little bit of storage and one 1tb spin drive for my games.

my current Mb ive linked below,

Yes, the M.2 slots on that board support NVMe drives.

I'd personally recommend the Adata XPG SX8200 Pro for a good drive that's not too expensive.

Make sure you install it in the top most M.2 slot (M2_1) as it runs at a higher bandwidth than the second slot.

Can we move this to RTFM? In all seriousness though, checking your motherboard specs takes about 1 minute.

B450 supports up to gen 3 x4 NVME, so no need to buy a new gen 4 drive just stick with the gen 3 drives. Samsung is the top choice for speed and quality with other more affordable drives being fairly reliable now that the tech has matured. Pretty sure the board supports 2 nvme, one through chipset and one through cpu direct lanes.
