Interference sound on microphone, no voice sound at all

I hope somebody can help me with this:

I bought this Lavalier microphone that according to many people on amazon reviews it doesn't work on PCs only on mobile devices due to its 3 ring connector, so I bought this adapter which has 2 ring connectors so it should work.

But when I plugg it in, the only sound the mic captures is something like an interference type of sound, I attached a sound sample on this post.

What could be causing this?

Have you tried if the lavalier microphone works on a mobile phone?

I solved by plugging both connectors of the adapter (mic and headphones) at the same time and then unplugging the heaphones connector, for some reason that worked.
