CinePI-2K | Build your own Compact Cinema Camera for under $200!

Hey LTT Forums,

You may remember mid last year when the LTT guys did a review of the Raspberry Pi High Quality camera. For certain applications like home surveillance and other hobbyists projects It does a fine job, but I have always been more interested to see if I can truly be used for some high end video/cinema applications. Like a GoPro on steroids if you will.

That's exactly what I've been working on and wanted to share an early look at it.

Specs:
-C/CS Mount
-2K ( 2028x1080 ) up to 50fps
-12bit DNG RAW
-Monitoring over HDMI
-Record to USB 3.0 Media ( External SSD )
-GPIO / Wireless control ( i.e. bluetooth/wifi )
-Open source/hackable/tweakable. Make it your own!

All this can be put together for under $200 ( closer to $120 for the base components )

It's still early in it's development, but I have captured footage and will be doing more tests and posting footage online soon, so stay tuned for that.

Will share more soon as I setup the GitHub repository
