With an RTX 3060 Ti? Good luck - quality PSUs for 650 watts or so are ~$100 USD.
Also, a Core i5-10400? Which motherboard, and what CAS latency on your RAM?

Cl16 ram, and yes it’s a core i5-10400 and the mobo is H470 PRIME H470M-PLUS/CSM Intel LGA 1200 ATX Motherboard. Idk if I need a wifi card or not. The title was clickbait :)

It does, but I'd recommend getting a better one.
The Hyper 212 is 40 bucks and worth it.

As for power supplies? I'm not very experienced with them, so I can't help you there. Everything else about your build looks good though :)

No, but you could look here for a Tier A/Tier B 650W unit:

How'd spending $40 on a mediocre, unnecessary cooler be more worthwhile than putting that money towards a better PSU/CPU/motherboard?

The stock cooler's perfectly adequate for a locked i5.

You really shouldn't cheap out on the most important part of your computer, I mean without power the rest of the PC is just an expensive paperweight

That thing looks like someone took a 2004 PSU, painted its housing and added a couple of connectors on the back to make it look better, it's still crap on the inside but hey it says "gaming" on the label.

This. Can't believe the 212 is still around, stock isn't so bad, might sound like a jet engine sometimes but it's not that bad.

Oh, edit: 3060Ti is gonna be hot enough to cook some bacon on top of it being inside that NZXT microwave. $70 for that, my God what an absolute ripoff.

https://www.microcenter.com/product/485312/powerspec-650-watt-80-plus-bronze-atx-semi-modular-power-supply how abt this?

The parts in that power supply should be used for basic electronics, not powering a ~$800 PC. Also, that case is crap with airflow and should be used as a garden gnome.

AS @Caroline stated, you never want to cheap out on the most important component in your computer. Go for a Corsair RM750x as that is a really good unit and affordable. Also, if you are buying all your parts from Micro Center, be sure to check Amazon and Newegg for their prices on the components you have put together. Make sure they are the same UPC and for Amazon, shipped and sold by Amazon.com, for Newegg, shipped and sold by Newegg. They cannot be sold by third party sellers as you can price match at Micro Center.

Eh it just keeps getting worse. Just read what everyone else just said, you won't find a *decent* power supply that's 650W for less than 70 bucks, not because I say so but because it doesn't exist.

Not trying to be a mean bitch just stating some facts. My plan would be to get a cheaper case, a SATA instead of a NVMeme drive and then a better power supply, there are great cases for like $50.

Can you help me find a case?

I'd say you can do better for $900ish, at least if you're not limited to just Microcenter.

$110 seems pretty excessive for an H470 board, there's not much info on the Barracuda Q5 (other than the fact that it does use QLC NAND, which should ideally be avoided for an OS drive), the H510 is a hotbox and I couldn't find anything on the PSU, though there probably is a reason for Redragon not being known for their PSUs (or... for much of anything really, other than cheap peripherals afaik).

You could put together either an AMD or a comparable Intel rig for roughly the same price.

AMD:

Intel:

Frankly, I think I'd spend the extra ~$20 on the AMD build - the 3600 isn't necessarily a whole lot faster (if at all) compared to the 10400 depending on the workload, but if you plan on upgrading the CPU a few years down the line, I'd put my money on you finding more good deals on Zen 2/3 CPUs than on Comet/Rocket Lake ones.

And also once you do upgrade your CPU (if you decide to), it won't be gimped by B460/H410/H470's memory speed limitations, and potentially by subpar VRMs as well.

It was worth it in 2012 when it was a 20$. It sure as hell isn’t worth 40$ now and hasn’t been worth anything compared it it’s competitors in years.

As for OP, 650w under 75$ and its a decent unit:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B084Q4JQM9

About all i could suggest at that price point for 550-650 watts, these are the only decent 80+ gold options i can find left, anything other than this is currently coasting on brand name price hikes, like corsair CV units being the same price though theyre awful power supplies.

That kinda makes sense then - I've been watching some of the older LTT videos from around that time.
