Oppo Find 7 1440p phone official

The first 1440p smartphone is now official.

The Oppo Find 7 packs a 1440p screen, Snapdragon 801 processor, 3gb RAM, 32gb storage with 128gb microSD compatibility, a 3000mah battery, it can charge from 0 to 75% in 30 minutes, and apparently has a very nice set of speakers.

As I guessed before it's capable of combining 10 pictures into a single 50mp image, has 4k recording and a slough of other camera features. A high end Sony f2.0 lens is in use.

Sounds pretty nice.

Unfortunately it's a little on the big side at 152mm x 75mm x 9.2mm

So, a little narrower but a little taller than a Note 3. Too big for my tastes.

 

Definitely sexy.

Kind of unfortunate it only has a 3000mah battery, that's a definite slight for me. The OnePlus One is ahead in specs for me overall I think.

 

What do you think guys? Would this phone being only $550 make you buy it over another flagship?

I wish they'd listed the dimensions in their launch but I haven't seen anything yet. Hopefully it's not ungodly huge.

I'm not a huge fan either but it's vastly better than Windows Phone, and I hate the restrictions of iOs.

I don't care much for my phone to do anything other than be a phone so I use iOS due to it's sheer simplicity to get to the messaging and calling easily. I think a phone should remains a phone not become a mobile PC.

If you use it for that why not get an older Nokia? Right now I'm using an E72 (broke my phone and I'm waiting for the new flagships) and I've had it on for 3 days so far and it still has full bars...

 

I need to have a mobile PC for work. It makes my life way easier and I make tens of thousands more this way. I'm so glad they've become what they are today.

I get my iPhones for free whenever my older brother gets an upgrade. Also T-Mobile offered to give me an iPhone 5 (currently have the 4) for free when we switch from AT&T to them.

It's a 2-year contract, which I don't see how that's ages or why I would need to leave. All carriers are total BS it's basically pick your poison when choosing one.

Correct. If the carrier uses CDMA, in the case of Sprint and Verizon, then you can't just add the phone to the network. The SIM is internal I believe.

They also use different frequencies than a GSM device.

Most of the time that's the only way to get a decent plan.

I have a montly plan that I can abandon at any time. Like when they hike prices on the plan I'm on or a better one becomes available, that I will then also adopt on a monthly basis without contract.

 

Only way they can even legally bind someone to a fixed term contract here is if you get a device with it for cheap or for free, in which case you need to reimburse the device's cost if you want to break the contract.

Ah I see, well in my experience all we have to do is pay an early termination fee which is about $60. For my family at least, I don't know how it's been for others.
