What is this noise in OG xbox one

My friends xbox one has a weird noise ignore the clicking sound that's from his external HDD

I'm just speaking from experience so what I say may not work 100%

Sounds like the fan bearing is done for. Your friend may need to replace it. Would be easier if you were to open it up. 

 

If it's under warranty, replace it.

I doubt a 2015 ish Xbox One is under warranty, would a computer fan work in it
