RM650 fan not spinning..pls help..

josephkarthic

Hi,

I bought a Rm650 psu knowing that its overkill for my below spec..

Ancient i5-760

Asus p7p55d-e

Gtx 1660 super

i bought it as future proof(upgrade to i7 10700k and 3070 or 3080)and also the previous psu was a local made c*ap and got damaged..

But the fan never spins even at full load, maybe im not consuming it enough... ?

Just want to know if there's no fan spin and the heat produced from the psu will increase case temp?

And if it's never going to spin will it damage the components inside going forward?

Your not drawing enough power to turn the fan on.

Quick look on the product page doesn't show the info.... I bet it did on the box though. But I imagine the fan won't turn on until it hits ~400 watts load, maybe 350. I believe that is what my rm65i does. Either way, your system at full load likely only draws 250 watts. PSU aint even trying ;)

You are totally fine :)
