Which motherboard to choose

ssynz04

Budget (including currency):

Country:

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for:

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):  My friend wants to upgrade and he is having hard time which board to choose with ryzen 5 3600. B550M is future proof, but none of my friends have tested B550 motherboards, and msi b450m mortar max is known to be a good motherboard. Which to choose(regardless of the price)

MSI B450 Gaming Plus isn't bad if you're on more of a budget. If you can afford to spend a bit more Asus X570-P isn't too bad.

Wow, I was just looking at the msi gaming plus.

I'm not that familiar with X570 motherboards, are they far better than b450 motherboards or should I choose b450 and spend on other components

If you need more USB ports and hardcore OCing, go with the X570 but otherwise, save your money and allocate it to other components.

X570 is a bit newer, but based on AMD's nice cross-generation compatibility, it's not too big a hit to "future-proofing" your build.
