Posted December 10, 2020 I was testing two monitors and one was plugged in, the other was on. When the other touched the first DP input before going into the second my primary monitor flashed off. Could this have damaged either monitor or GPU (or even other parts of the PC) Over 1500 worth of equipment was plugged in.
 Posted December 10, 2020 No. It's totally normal to have more than one display plugged in and in use at a time (I run four). Did both monitors show a display while in Windows?

Did both monitors show a display while in Windows? Yeah, what I mean is that one port touched the other ports DP connection, which caused it to go off. Just plugging in to the other port didn't do that. It was also repeatable. I thought I was some kind of short circuit
 For example touching the other side of the other DP cable with my second one would cause the primary to lose display. Just plugging them in normally (to separate ports) didn't do this. I am not repeating the event.
