I have managed to buy a 5800x and i was wondering if an ek classic kit s240 d rgb or a corsair h100i rgb platinum se will be enough so i can overclock the cpu

Both will work fine, especially for a 5800x

Both solutions in OP are more than enough. The CPU will likely have stability issues when OCing before temps are the problem.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

So I've had my 5800X build up for a few days now. It is way hotter than expected unless you undervolt. It is a common issue described all over forums and reddit. I honestly think the safest thing to do to get max performance is to get a 360mm AIO. FYI I'm on a Dark Rock Pro 4, and it was hitting 90C stock settings because of precision boost 2. The voltage was also pretty crazy at 1.4V+

Let me know how your setup fairs! I would love to have more data points. Thanks!
