Double gpu non sli power consumption

Assuming that your 650W is a quality unit, you have plenty of headroom with your current setup. Adding a 1030 for 2d output is going to draw an additional ~10W, which is insignificant.

So I created my first pc not long ago (about 2 weeks) and here is my build: rtx 2060 - Atx motherboard - r5 3600 - 4x 8gb ram - 650w power supply. Now I know im good for the power but I recently decided to buy a gt 1030 to add more ports for monitor since I know I cannot use the onboard ports because of my cpu and I am already using the 4 ports of my rtx 2060 (I know I love monitors). So will I be ok with me adding a gt 1030 from the power supply pov? It may be a dumb question or not idk im still learning anout pc building.

Yes, the 1030 uses like 35w, it's perfectly fine.

You are really skirting the edge of power, the GPU eats 500 watts, and the CPU 65 watts, toss in HDD/SSD, mobo and RAM, and you are probably at 600 watts, which doesn't leave much for another GFX card, but the 1030 uses around 30 watts, so I suppose as long as you have a really good power supply unit, you should be okay

In what world does a 2060 use 500w of power? Lol.

Did it suggest the GPU alone uses 500W or did it suggest a 500W psu for a system with that GPU in it? I suspect the latter.

rtx 2060 uses under 200w stock and little over 200w when overcloked. the 500w came form the whole system with overclocked Cpus. Probably 8700k.

So OP. your rtx 2060+ 3600 uses  around 250w with gt 1030 little under300w. with mobo+ram+sotrages+fans  under 100w so that makes around under 350ww of total system power usage. You are fine here. People have runed rtx 2080 S and 2080 ti with a 450w psu.
