Safe to use temporary pc side panel made out of cardboard?

Primey_

So I bought a new case recently and my stupid brain didn't remember to check for CPU Cooler clearance and of course my cooler doesn't fit. I had the idea of using cardboard as a side panel only for temporary until I get a new cooler.

Is this a wise idea? It's just so I can protect the insides, better than having no side panel.

It's fine, I used to test motherboards by putting them on the cardboard box they came in, without any issues.

Well actually it's better to just have it open as it will get more air.

Anyway you can make a hole at the top of the heatsink so it sticks out a abit.

Eh. I've heard it's best to have a side panel so air can circulate better. Can't make a hole in because the side panel is glass :P

You're practically has a full window for the air to go through.

Anyway, go to a glass shop, they can cut off a circular hole in a minute.

It’s just cardboard. Don’t see it being an issue or unsafe.

Or you can just leave it open without a side panel hahaha. Just don't kick it and make sure your cat doesn't wander inside.

Cardbord is ok. It doesn't look good, but it doesn't hurt your system either. Just don't use gaffa tape to attach it, since the nasty marks it leaves behind, aren't something you want to have on your PC.
