WiFi analyzer for iOS?

Donut417

Any one know of a good WiFi analyzer app for iOS? My sister is going to be moving to a new house so Ill need to do a site survey for her Google Mesh System. Considering the new house is double the size of their current one, I have concerns of WiFi coverage.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

Every one I have used on iOS has either not worked or was missing features I needed. Do you have an old android phone or tablet laying around you could use? I keep an android tablet around for things like this, it's come in useful a few times.

I had one somewhere, but I cant currently find it. My old Android tablet is too old to be helpful as it hasn't been supported in years sadly.

There are a few, unfortunately I don’t remember which one I used since it’s been awhile. NetSpot seems like a popular one, but it’s a 7 day free trial and payed after that. I think WiFi Scanner might have been the one I used.

There is an app for macOS, its actually built into the operating system but its not real time and it has very limited features. Open Wireless Diagnostics > Window > Scan

In that window you will see your nearby networks and recommendations for what you set your wifi channels to for 2.4 and 5Ghz.

The issue is I need to measure signal strength so I know where to put my sisters Google WiFi pucks. They are moving from a small one story house to a larger two story house. She might have to pick up more Google WiFi pucks.

I did find my Android phone. It just sucks that we dont have an App on iOS or MacOS.
