MacBook Air 2020 vs 2018

So I have recently upgraded my MacBook Air from the 2018 base model to the 2020 base model.

 

The M1 Chip is as Steve Jobs would have called a "Screamer" the benchmark results coming from this machine is really impressive!

 

You can see that in a 2 year gap, the improvements are so big in almost every single way!

Main Machine:  16 inch MacBook Pro (2021), Apple M1 Pro (10 CPU, 16 GPU Core), 512GB SDD, 16GB RAM

Gaming Machine:  Acer Nitro 5, Core i7 10750H, RTX 3060 (L) 6GB, 1TB SSD (Boot), 2TB SSD (Storage), 32GB DDR4 RAM

Other Tech: iPhone 15 Pro Max, Series 6 Apple Watch (LTE), AirPods Max, PS4, Nintendo Switch, PS3, Xbox 360

Network Gear:  TP Link Gigabit 24 Port Switch, TP-Link Deco M4 Mesh Wi-Fi, M1 MacMini File & Media Server with 8TB of RAID 1 Storage

Aside from the software version difference that is extremely impressive considering noting has changed for cooling and form factor.

That is pretty impressive what Apple pulled off compared to Intel's lack of progression. I'd love to see what my rig can pull off in Cinebench R23 but I can't even get the program window up...but its installed.

Perhaps they will be even faster than their iPad/iPhone counterparts in future generations.
