She uses a old samsung phone rn.

All she needs really is youtube.

Im thinking of the ipad or ipad mini the new ones (why tf is the mini more expensive than the normal ipad) i would go mini because its smaller but idk if its worth extra 80 quid.

Anyway all i know is ipad. Im wondering if anyone knows any ipad competitors which are any decent for between £100-400?

If all she needs is to watch YouTube standard 16:9 or wider content, then yes you definitely want to overspend on something with an unfavorable screen aspect ratio.

You should always make purchasing decision based on what other people generally think is a good buy, instead of caring for your wallet or grandma's needs. No one care about your wallet or grandma's needs. Spend money to sate random people's ideals instead of grandma.

I thought the first paragraph was gonna be sarcasm then second legit, but i really cant tell. i cant even tell what your trying to say sarcasm or not. "No one care about your wallet or grandma's needs." what does this even mean?

"Spend money to sate random people's ideals instead of grandma." is this sarcasm?

I asked for suggestions for my grandma, not what random people think is good.

The only good thing i got from here is that yea the aspect thing, but you have not recommended anything so even thats useless to me.

I could consider a amazon fire tablet thing, but i mean those things are slow asf. This tablet will prob need to last a good long while i reckon she will use it a lot.

Regular iPad. Never mind the aspect ratio talk — it's easy to use, offers a great screen, has a robust ecosystem and will have the better long-term OS support. I would suggest the Galaxy Tab A7, but it has a lousy screen and Android's usual issues with tablet apps and OS support.

The iPad mini costs more because it's using a higher-end processor and otherwise aimed more at enthusiasts and niche users than the base iPad.

My sister has a mini and love it. iOS is easier to use than Android in my opinion. But my dad has recently switched from Android to iOS and I get less questions about how to do stuff. Which is a plus.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.
