how old is your daughter, and what is her use case? Whats the rest of her system. It really doesn't make much sense right now to buy a new older generation card when new cards are launching right now.

There are no new midrange or low-end (under $500) cards that have been announced as of today. We're definitely not getting any this year, who knows when in 2021 they come.

I understand that, but I still don't think its worth it value wise even short term, 1-3 months.

What are your thoughts on used cards from eBay? If you do your homework, they're safe. Cards sold by independent sellers are usually in good shape, and the bulk resellers tend to be the ones pushing crap. Counterintuitive, I know. You've also got 30 days to return anything on eBay that's not as described or broken, no matter what the seller says.

I ask because I've had good luck with cards from private sellers in the past. The card in my main gaming rig now is a GTX 1070 FE that's in outstanding shape aside from light scratches on the acrylic window that no one sees anyway, and I got the card several months ago for a little under $160.

Aerocool DS are the best fans you've never tried.

Oof. 1050ti is weak. No one really deserves this especially not when they just built their first pc... 1660 or even a 1060 is far superior.

I'm sorry about your bad experience but what has that to do with the op?
